SCENE ASSEMBLY & POSTPRODUCTION In development

CinePost

The take is only
the beginning.

CinePost is a new way of approaching postproduction—built to connect the scene, camera, and information captured in CineSuite with approachable tools for better images and effects.

Give people the tools so they can just make a movie. CinePost’s direction is a connected workspace for independent filmmakers and small teams, from building the virtual set to refining the shot and eventually editing and delivering the film.

IN YOUR SETUP

Where the workflow can help.

Build and refine a virtual set

Arrange scene assets, props, materials, cameras, and lighting in an editable workspace. Keep the master scene available while the mobile shooting workflow continues to develop.

Inspect what happened in the take

Compare the clean camera, rendered image, scene view, and digital daily. Playback offsets and frame stepping help examine the relationship between the pieces instead of treating a preview as the final image.

Explore a key without changing the source

The current Mac key preview supports screen-color selection, matte inspection, despill, and foreground adjustments. Final composite rendering, complete take reconstruction, and editing-to-delivery are separate development work.

CINEPOST / THE CAPABILITIES

Keep the creative decisions within reach.

Start before the shoot.

Assemble an editable set from 3D scenes, props, and scans. Place and scale assets, adjust materials, and work with cameras and lighting. Keep the master scene available for the creative changes that follow.

Compare the pieces of the shot.

Arrange independent views of the scene camera, rendered image or movie, clean camera footage, and digital daily. Playback, offsets, and frame stepping help you inspect the relationship between them.

Make keying easier to see.

The current Mac development preview includes screen-color selection, matte and checkerboard inspection, despill, and foreground exposure and saturation controls. Adjustments are saved without changing the original media.

Keep the scene editable.

Move, rotate, and scale objects; adjust material color, roughness, and metalness; create cameras and lights. Reversible changes and Undo make it easier to explore a shot without losing the starting point.

Work with useful scene sources.

The current foundation handles USD and USDZ scenes, OBJ assets, and colored point clouds, with a controlled Blender import path for saved scene frames. Portable project copies collect the material needed to move the project.

Carry the work toward the final image.

Scene export and an optional Blender scene-frame render path provide working foundations. Reconnecting complete CineTrack takes, finishing composites, and delivering an edited film remain the next stages of the product.

CURRENT DEVELOPMENT

The foundation is already taking shape

  • An editable scene workspace with asset placement, grouping, materials, cameras, and lights.
  • Four rearrangeable views for scene, render, clean camera, and digital daily comparison.
  • Non-destructive key preview and foreground adjustments on Mac.
  • Capture metadata import that preserves available timing and camera evidence.
  • Portable scene projects, edited-scene export, and optional scene-frame rendering.

WHERE WE’RE HEADING

One creative thread, from the set to the finished film

Prepare a mobile set for CineTrack while preserving the editable master. Bring footage and the information actually captured on set back into CinePost, restore the shot, and keep working on keying, color, lighting, materials, and effects. Basic editing and delivery are part of the larger direction.

  • Prepare optimized CineTrack scenes linked to the editable master.
  • Reconnect complete takes, camera movement, scene placement, and available auxiliary capture data.
  • Develop final compositing, effects, basic editing, audio finishing, and delivery tools.

CinePost is a desktop application in development for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Current validation and the key preview are most advanced on Mac. Full take reconstruction, final composite rendering, and the editing-to-delivery workflow are not yet complete.

THE CONNECTED WORKFLOW / IN DEVELOPMENT

From the first setup to the final shot.

Removing the pain points of production and post: keep capture, timing, scene information, and creative decisions connected as the CineSuite, CineTrack, and CinePost workflow develops.
